In this post, I'm going to talk about the almost unbearable heat in Cizre. We all know it—this place is scorching hot. So, what do most of us do? You guessed it: We crank up the air conditioning. But let's be real, is that solving anything? No! All it does is inflate our electricity bills and heat our planet even more.

Air Conditioning: A Temporary Solution, A Permanent Problem

What irks me is how many people see air conditioning as a long-term solution. Sure, it cools us down in the short term, but what about the long run? Increased electricity consumption, more carbon emissions, and ultimately, more global warming.

Where's the Municipality?

So, what about the municipality? Why is there so little green space in the city? When there's a simple and effective solution like "planting trees," why isn't the local government taking steps? Everyone is somewhat to blame, but I think the local government is not doing its part.

Trees: The Real Heroes

Trees are awesome! They not only provide shade but also clean the air. If there were more trees in the city, I'm sure this heat problem would be alleviated, at least a bit. Trees start to bear their fruit in a few years and naturally reduce the temperature.

Air conditioning is not the solution. While there is a long-term and sustainable solution like planting trees, taking shortcuts only leads us to bigger problems. Both the municipality and we, the citizens, need to take more responsibility in this matter.
